American Bald Eagles at Lake Jacomo Missouri

We have had several inches of rain in just a few days causing some flooding problems in my area. Strong thunderstorms have been a constant here for the past 23 days now. The weather finally cleared just enough for me to be able to go get a look at our Eagle family at Lake Jacomo. To my surprise, the area where I go to film was flooded out and I couldn't find any suitable ground to place my tripod and camera set up. It just wasn't safe enough. I held my breath as I tried relentlessly to get it to work but with the wind blowing and my gear teetering on rocks for balance, I decided it wasn't worth the loss if something was to happen. The lake was literally all around my feet as it had overtaken the solid ground and only the rocks were protruding from the water.
I managed to capture just a couple of minutes of good footage. J2 ( male, aka: father ) was feeding the eaglets. At one point he turns his attention away from the fish and you can clearly see one of the eaglets feeding itself. The video is enough to confirm that all three eaglets had weathered the storms, and are doing well. We are five / six weeks into the eaglets life span at this moment in time. This is about the halfway mark to fledge, when they leave the nest. Hopefully the weather will clear up soon and we can get a much better look at some of the amazing growth these eaglets are going through. Until the next one, Cheers!
