The US Chongqing Dog Conservation Project is the first breeding program to introduce this unique and ancient breed, the Chinese Chongqing Dog, to the United States.

I had the pleasure of meeting the Chavez family in Los Lunas, New Mexico. Laura and Richard have taken on the task of bringing the Chongqing Dog, an ancient Chinese hunting breed to the United States. They have initiated a project or a coop of sorts in the breeding, development and establishment of the breed here in the U.S.A.
