In the summer of 2023, SteMajourneys undertook to film a series of videos for the Municipality of Platanias. During this endeavor, they decided to investigate more the work that ARCHELON is doing in the area. Maria, born and raised in Crete, was already familiar with the volunteers in blue Tshirts who patrol the beaches of Chania and protect the nests of the Loggerhead turtles. When they expressed their interest in learning more about ARCHELON’s action, we accepted with pleasure.

Το καλοκαίρι του 2023 οι SteMajourneys ανέλαβαν να κινηματογραφήσουν μερικά βίντεο για τον Δήμο Πλατανιά. Μέσα από αυτή την ενασχόλιση αποφάσισαν να ερευνήσουν λίγο παραπάνω το έργο που κάνει και ο ΑΡΧΕΛΩΝ στην περιοχή. Η Μαρία, γεννημένη και μεγαλωμένη στην Κρήτη, ήταν ήδη εξοικειωμένη με τους εθελοντές με τα μπλε μπλουζάκια που κατεβαίνουν στις παραλίες των Χανίων και προστατεύουν τις φωλιές της χελώνας Καρέττα. Όταν μας εξέφρασαν το ενδιαφέρον τους να μάθουν περισσότερα για τη δράση μας δεχθήκαμε με χαρά.
