Over the last few years I've been testing a number of manual lawn aerators to see how well we can aerate the lawn without having to use a large expensive machine.

Ive tested a number of budget manual aerators, and a couple of premium manual aerators.

So I genuinely cannot say hardly anything bad at all about any one of these.

The budget aerators do honestly perform great at a low cost, however there are drawbacks Ive pointed out in the video.

The premium aerators cost more because you can replace the working part of the tool as many times as you like. So it's likely to last for many long years, which is what we call a good investment for the long term.

If you are not overly strong, I would suggest going for a budget aerator with just two hollow tines as they are a bit easier to push in and pull out.

Overall, the new JNJ premium aerator is absolutely right up there with the others. Its longer and wider tines makes it more efficient, and will improve drainage more.
