I haven't been posting much lately because life has been "Q", meaning no new rescues for us!
However, I thought I'd take the camera out to the flight aviary just in case anyone was awake and Miss Candice decided to demonstrate just what happens on a lazy Friday afternoon in care.
The flyingfoxes are here for a number of reasons such as barbed wire or netting entrapment, concussions and there are a few hardy paralysis syndrome survivors.
The Reds will be overwintering in care until their species returns later in the year but the others will be systematically released once they are well enough to go home and the littlies will be soft released back to the wild when conditions are right.
Fingers crossed for a continued "Q" winter season with lots of flowering and bats staying out of trouble.
Any bat by itself through the day is in trouble. Don't touch but please call your local wildlife rescue organisation for help.
