Hello, and welcome to 80/20's product highlight series. Today we are going to take a look at one of the more versatile fastening methods, the miter connector. This connector can secure any miter connect bar from 90 to 180 degrees. It's available in fractional, and metric.

The miter connector comes preassembled and is made up of five parts. You have a center bar, two barrel nuts, and two springs. Now, due to the nature of the miter connector, both of your bars are going to need machined, with a counterbore service, and a hole drilled in the center cavity. More information on miter connector machining services can be found in the 80/20 product catalog.

Now when it comes to installing the miter connector, you're going to start with one half. Take your barrel, and place it into the counterbore service. From there we'll take our center bar with the springs on it, and put one half into the center cavity of the bar. We'll line up the indent on the bar, facing up towards the barrel, and engage the barrel into the indent. From there we'll repeat it on the other side. We'll take our barrel and put it into the counterbore service. Take the center bar, and place it into the profile; bring the two bars together. At this point we'll just need to tighten down the barrel on each side. At this point we have a strong, internal connection.

I hope you found this segment on the miter connector helpful. For more information, visit 8020.net and make sure to subscribe to future 80/20 videos. And as always, make it a great day.
