I wanted to share this exercise that I created for my Patreon students back in January. This is a favorite breathing exercise of mine: 478 breathing. This exercise encourages a focus on the exhale specifically a longer exhale than inhale. It shifts the breathing focus from our chest and thorax to our abdomen and diaphragm, thereby facilitating stimulation of the vagus nerve. Some things to keep in mind while doing this:
Inhale through the nose, with intention to expand the belly
Exhale through a wide open mouth, with intention to pull the belly button to the spine
