One of my least favorite aspects of rebuilding the Chevy 250 Inline 6 was being forced to use the cork oil pan and valve cover gaskets. You have to work with what's available but in this case, what's available, is not as good as what our V8 brethren get.

Without access to fancy steel core silicone gaskets, I decided to cut my own Valve Cover gasket out of a sheet of black 3/16 60A BunaN Nitrile. Its basically oil proof and is temperature resistant enough for the job.

To top it all off, the cover was reinstalled with a Dorman 710091 Black Oxide 1/420 stud kit. It maintains a stock look while allowing for easy positioning and torquing.
