星のカービィ スーパーデラックス より「海ステージ」をジャズワルツで演奏しました。


カービィシリーズの曲は、初代星のカービィ(GB)の楽曲をモチーフにしているものが多く、この海ステージの原曲も初代フロートアイランドの曲とほぼ同じコード進行で出来ています。
イントロでもフロートアイランドのBメロが使われていたりと繋がりが分かりやすいです。

マリオやドンキーの水の面と違って、水中を泳ぐわけではない(ゲームスピードが遅くならない)ので、水の面なのに軽快な曲調で当時は少し異色なBGMでした。
吸い込む&飛ぶというカービィ独自の特徴を活かすために、「水の面=緩慢」というアクションゲームのお約束をあえて無視した桜井氏は本当に天才だと思います。


We arranged and performed "Sea Stage" from Kirby Super Star, in the jazz waltz arrangement.

Many songs in the Kirby series have motifs based on the music of the firstgeneration Kirby (GB), and the original music of this Sea Stage is also created with almost the same chord progression as the music of the first Float Island.
At the beginning of the song, a part of the Float Island song is used, and the connection is easy to understand.

Unlike Mario and Donkey Kong's water stages, it does not swim in water (the game speed does not slow down), so it has a light tempo with the water stage.
I think that Mr. Sakurai(Kirby's director) is a genius who darely ignored the promise of the action game "water stage = slow" to take advantage of Kirby's unique feature of sucking in & flying.
