In 2020, Governor Gavin Newsom signed an executive order to eliminate internal combustion vehicles from onroad and offroad applications.

We've heard through the grapevine, that starting in 2026, IC enginepowered forklifts that are 13 years old or older, or have an engine that is 13 years old or older, will no longer be allowed to operate in California.

What we don't know.
So, what exactly does this new legislation mean for California forklift owners? We aren't exactly sure yet, but we're working to find answers to these questions. I plan on meeting with legislators to get more answers.

What we do know.
We know electric forklift technology has improved, and dealerships like TMHNC can help you set up your charging stations and power infrastructure.

TMHNC has been in the material handling business for the last 30 years. We wouldn't have been around this long in California if we didn't keep an eye on changing technology. Like you, we have many questions about any new legislation that eliminates IC from your forklift fleet.

As the President and CEO of TMHNC, I wanted to let you know that we're here for you, and we'll keep you informed. Keep an eye out for more videos!
