Hi everyone,

this is the fourth video in the mini series on how to make a Yubinuki (Japanese thimble ring). In this video I cover preparing the thimble for stitching the chosen design by marking the interfacing with the pattern requirements and how to attach it to the thimble. Each pattern differs in the way it is worked/ stitched and that naturally means that the preparation for stitching the pattern will too.

The kit (by GinaB Silkworks Yubinuki Kit ~ see below) has a really handy tool that makes it so easy and straight forward to do this preparation.

SUGGESTED ALTERNATIVE THREADS (all available from Gina B Silkworks)

Rajmahal art silk ~ Worked as a single strand.

Soie de Paris and Soie d'Alger ~ Both of these are divisible just like DMC thread.

Soie Gobelins ~ This is a fine thread and finer threads do mean that the patterns need to be adjusted. Gina recommends to use 3 strands for one of the DMC threads.
However if you were to only use one strand at a time, you would need to adjust the pattern by working every instruction 3 times (so 2 rounds would become 6).
