Yamaha’s worldfamous U3 Upright Piano has been around for several decades, but since their YUS3 was released around 10 years ago, the latter model has offered a viable alternative for pianists wanting a large upright, but which can respond better to their expressive requirements. Both 131cm in height, these pianos benefit from long strings, a large soundboard, and a large cabinet for optimal sound resonance. In this video, Colin discusses the main differences which set the YUS3 apart from the U3, however, and explains how these improved features lead to this instrument having a larger tonal palette and a wider expressive range.
