If your plants (ex. heavy feeders) are in need of nutrients, a bag of worm castings isn't going to solve your problems.
It will help build healthy soil which is what you want to get to eventually, but fertilizer provides nutrients in a much shorter time.
Worm castings are awesome and definitely have a place in the garden, but make sure you are using the right strategy to meet your gardening goals.
