Wolfdogs welcome Mom home

Sarah and the Wolves

In early May, I left for what was supposed to be a weeklong trip. Unfortunately, I ended up having to stay for over two months due to a family health emergency. It was the longest I've ever been away from the dogs by far, and I was genuinely concerned they'd be distant with me, or would hold some level of a grudge for being gone (even though Matt was with them, spoiling them rotten the entire time). That fear was immediately alleviated when I opened the front door and was swamped by three furry idiots. Wolfdogs can be selective with whom they'll trust and love, but once you earn that love, it takes a lot more than two months to lose it.

I know I've said often that the wolves have a healing presence, and I've again been reminded of how truly special they are. The past two months have been traumatic for myself and my family, and yet as soon as I was around Indigo, Doug, and (honorary wolfdog) Nymeria, I felt a peace I hadn't felt in a long time. My drive to share that with others feels reinvigorated, and I've decided to finally finish my degree so that I can begin building a life that will provide enough funding for a sanctuary. I'm once again sorry for going silent without any headsup, but I hope the joy and love in this video can help make up for my sudden absence. Stay healthy, happy, and loved friends!
