The Winx begin their second year at the Alfea school for fairies. Suddenly an unknown fairy, Aisha, shows up and faints in front of the Winx. When Aisha wakes up, she tells the Winx what happened to her: she has unsuccessfully tried to save the Pixies from the Shadow Phoenix, a powerful wizard, who has imprisoned them in his fortress.
