Towards the end of the clone wars, one star fighter started getting more popular than all the other variants used by the Republic Navy. It was called the Alpha3 Nimbusclass Vwing starfighter, and it had a unique set of characteristic that made it a favorite of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. The Vwing would one day go on to inspire the creation of the Tie Fighter line.
