When I first came to Korea, I was overwhelmed by how complicated it was to sort trash. Koreans are decades ahead of the U.S. with a separate "food waste" bin for food scraps, most household products can be recycled, there are multiple bins for different kinds of plastics, and special trash bags that you have to buy based on the district you're living in so you're not carelessly producing waste.

There are a lot of memes about how hard it can be for foreigners to deal with trash in Korea, and you can actually get fined if you don't do it correctly. This is my expertise so that you don't have to learn the hard way!
