A question we’re often asked – Why does the Snorkel scissor lift stop and the alarm sounds when I am bringing the platform right down?
It’s actually a simple safety feature. When bringing the platform down either from platform controls OR from the base controls, the platform will stop descending at about 2m or so off the ground and the alarm will sound. There’s nothing wrong, it is just a helpful reminder to check there is nothing around the scissor lift that either the platform will hit or anything that could get crushed as it lowers right down.
So once it stops, take your hand off the joystick and check that everything is clear, then hand back on the joystick controller to continue the descent as before.
