There are lot of buy sell signals available for sale, but most of them fail to perform in reality. Many trading systems which offered very good performance on back tested data failed to perform in real market trading. This is mainly due data snooping, a statistical error which occurs during back testing of the system.
Trading system are helpful to avoid human emotional intervention while trading stocks. Data snooping refers to statistical inference that the researcher decides to perform after looking at the data (as contrasted with preplanned inference, which the researcher plans before looking at the data).
