There is research to show that whole body vibration helps with lower back pain

There is also research that suggests that whole body vibration is bad for joints.

This research suggests that there is likely to be a short term improvement (due to decreased inflammation) but long term degeneration, if you keep using it, due to damage to joint tissue.

Similarly, whole body vibration is a cause of lower back pain in people who drive large machines, by a similar mechanism degeneration of the disks.

So, I guess WBV can be a nice and invigorating shake up, which can reduce inflammation in lower back pain patients, but should be used with caution long term.
