The Peloton Tread and NordicTrack 2450 are very similar at a surface level. They are running treadmills with large touchscreens that support smart, trainerled content. However, they could not be more different upon closer inspection.

The Peloton Tread is a firm treadmill with a 20” x 59” running deck. The 3.0 HP motor is located beneath the deck, so there is no motor hood at the front. The console is very minimalistic, except for the large display. Peloton content is filmed primarily in a studio and is set to upbeat music.

The NordicTrack 2450 is a very soft and bouncy treadmill with a 20” x 60” running deck. It has a traditional motor hood to cover its powerful 3.6 CHP motor. The console has a few additional features compared to the Tread, like a powerful fan. The 2450 supports iFIT’s training platform. iFIT classes are mainly filmed outdoors in global locations. They are more peaceful and motivating.

The Peloton Tread and NordicTrack 2450 are each best when used with their respective training platforms. NordicTrack offers additional features like a Google maps integration. Peloton offers a few entertainment options like streaming apps and the Lane Break game.

The Peloton Tread is a nonfolding treadmill, so you will need a large and permanent dedicated space. The NordicTrack 2450 is a slightly larger treadmill, but it folds to save you space.

We prefer the NordicTrack 2450 to the Peloton Tread, because it is a better value for its money. Without the training subscription, the Tread isn’t significantly better than budget running treadmills due to its weak motor and firm running deck.
