A remote online notarization (RON) is an alternative option to the paperbased, inperson Notary experience. See how working with an online Notary differs from traditional and electronic notarization: https://bit.ly/2WC3oEO
Starting with the remote Notary and signer meeting online to the way a signer’s identity is confirmed, every part of a remote notarization happens in an electronic environment.
Traditional Notary supplies like journals and seal stamps are replaced with a digital equivalent. An electronic Notary seal replaces the physical stamp. A digital certificate becomes the official signature of the virtual Notary. Instead of a wet ink signature, the customer will electronically sign the document.
While the tools an online Notary uses are different, the process is generally the same.
