The U.S. government is poised to ban TikTok for 170 million users unless the social media platform break ties with its Chinabased parent company. This comes after a recent bill was passed to force the sale over privacy concerns. India swiftly banned TikTok in 2020 when it had 200 million users. Here’s what can be learned from that.
