During my recent trip, I explored Cuba, one of the few communist countries left in the world. It has a long history, starting with being colonized by Spain and later fighting for independence. Despite gaining independence, Cuba still faces many challenges today, including a thriving black market with crazy exchange rates. I was also surprised to see how poor collection the national restaurants offer because the government controls food distribution in a communist system.

But amidst the struggles, Cuba has some unique things to offer, like its famous rum and tobacco. Trying these local specialties gave me a taste of Cuba’s rich culture. Despite the tough times, the Cuban people are resilient and welcoming, making my time there truly memorable.
