In this video, Dr. Berg talks about Lectins. Lectins are proteins in certain foods that have a couple purposes and one is it acts as a survival mechanism to protect the plant. Lectin is considered a poison that keeps insects away. It also helps the communication between the cells.

if the person is sensitive to lectins, they could have an inflammatory condition that creates a leaky gut which then can lead to autoimmune problems. He also talks about what would make someone more sensitive to lectins than others.

Foods High in Lectins:
• Beans
• Legumes (peanuts/soy)
• Whole Grains
• Nightshades (peppers, eggplant, tomatoes)
• Animal Products – animals who consume grains

Lectin Sensitivity:
• Cruciferous Vegetables
• Leafy Greens
