I fought the weeds all year last year and lost. They got into the bottoms of my trellises and the only option was hand pulling. That wasn't happening. But one of my trellises was off the ground by 1 foot and I was able to manage the weeds easily. This year I'm installing 5 ft trellises on 7 foot posts. I can't believe it took me this long.
