The diesel engine needs a VACUUM PUMP to provide vacuum to the Hyrdovac or Brake Booster as the engine creates no vacuum in its intake manifold as opposed to common gasoline engines. A contaminated Vacuum pump will also contaminate the oil system of the engine itself

So before I install the surplus engine is I did this procedure to make sure of everything

Others may need the replacement of the internal vanes and the oil seal and Orings to completely restore a failing vacuum
