We took a quick weekend getaway to the Cooke Dam Pond, part of the AuSable River in the HuronManistee National Forest in northern Michigan. Along the way we stop in Pinconning at Williams Cheese House to pick up some snacks for the trip. While there was not any snow this year, it was still cold but we enjoyed the solitude of camping in the winter and the amazing views of the water from high above where we set up camp for the night.
