Today I welcome Andrea Kennedy to The Next Room. She considers herself a regular person, like most individuals—you might even call her mainstream. She started off 29 years ago as a total skeptic about Reiki. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics, and continued to be intrigued with the world and how things work.

Andrea decided after receiving Reiki the first time and hearing fascinating stories to take a Reiki class. Then while she was on a trip to Egypt in 1999, her next steps became clear. She returned home and completed her Reiki training through the Master level for the first time.

After she received correct information that seemed to just appear in her mind while offering Reiki to others, she became extremely curious about what was happening. This led her to explore other modalities including selfhypnosis, ESP, aura reading, mediumship, medical intuition, meditation, Chinese Energetic Medicine, Theta Healing, Integrated Energy Therapy, the Silva Method, channeling, and more.

In 2006, she began volunteering in her veterinarian's office giving Reiki to the animals. She soon discovered she could communicate with them which gave the sessions an entirely new depth as the results were amazing.

Unfortunately, the time came for her family's relocation due to her husband's job. She found it difficult to leave her Reiki family of students and clients behind. It was hard. The last thing she wanted to do was start all over and then possibly leave again if they weren’t going to stay. So she went back to practicing Reiki for herself and family. She used the time to further educate herself on spiritual and healing subjects by reading, taking classes, and volunteering in the Roswell Park Cancer Institute's Healing Touch program. She also repeated all levels of Reiki classes with different teachers, including William Rand of the International Center for Reiki Training. She first completed Karuna® Master Training in 2013, Holy Fire® in 2015, and Holy Fire® II in 2016. She went on to Medical Reiki Master training in 2017 and repeated Karuna® Reiki ART/Master with William Rand in 2018 but with the upgraded Holy Fire® III energy which is more powerful than the energy she had previously worked with.

After moving to Michigan in 2015, she quickly decided that she needed to offer Reiki again to help more people. One step at a time, she built Mainstream Reiki into a thriving professional Reiki business. She was teaching, offering free monthly Reiki Shares, and offering Reiki to people each month through her own private office.

Then COVID happened.

Surprisingly, closing her office and going to distance Reiki and online teaching was the best turn of events for her and Mainstream Reiki. In order to be a better teacher, she used some of her Covid downtime to take even more Reiki training. It was important to her to keep up on my certifications so she could teach all levels of the latest versions of Holy Fire® World Peace Reiki as well as the ICRT Animal Reiki courses.

Today, her greatest joy is to teach all of her Reiki classes Live and Online. She feels blessed to welcome students from all around the world who often find her through her popular Mainstream Reiki YouTube channel, and podcast.

She is a delightful guest and after listening to the show she has me convinced that everyone on the planet would benefit from this Life Force Energy known as Reiki!
