Bob Mintzer, U.S. jazz musician, composer and arranger, will take over the position of principal conductor of the WDR BIG BAND in September 2016. The GRAMMY award winner has played as a saxophonist in the big bands of Buddy Rich and Thad Jones / Mel Lewis and many more. His compositions belong to the standard repertoire of modern big band literature. Bob Mintzer has also set standards as a member of the jazz fusion band "YELLOWJACKETS". He has been closely associated with the WDR BIG BAND since the 1980s. Recorded on September 4, 2016 at the WDR Funkhaus / Cologne.
