We've all got that one person we know who insists we play it and won't stop talking about it's history (I am that guy and I have no shame). Well maybe it's time we go over how good this game is vs how broken it was on launch.

Troika did the best that they could but they got a whole lot of bad luck while developing this game and it didn't help things that they had to go toetotoe with halflife 2 in an already extremely competitive year for video games. No one should be surprised that in the buggy state Bloodlines launched in, VTMB did about as well as a Nosferatu in a beauty pageant.

Thanks to some insanely dedicated fan patching, VTMB is an excellent game today, however, that wasn't always the case. Perhaps our patched perception of the game has given us some rosetinted nostalgia for the original game. At least we can cross out fingers and hope that Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 has a much better development than the first game.
