Back in the Day Thief: The Dark project set the standard for sneaky, loot grabbing games and was a pillar of immersive sims. Long after the series had finished up it's trilogy and let the likes of Sam Fisher and Snake take over the sneaking around business we got a game called Dishonored from Arkane studios which played a lot like a modernized version of the thief trilogy. Two years later we got another thief game aiming to recapture the magic of the original trilogy. Between the two it seemed evident that there was now some serious competition for who did a better job at being a modernized thief game.
