Walking Balance and Coordination Drills

Follow
SKILLS AND WELLNESS

Are you looking for some walking drills that can help you improve your walking if you have a neuromuscular disease? If so, you’re in the right place. In this video, I will show you some simple and effective exercises that can help you strengthen your muscles, improve your balance, and increase your coordination.
These exercises are suitable for people who have conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, or cerebral palsy. They can help you regain your mobility and confidence, as well as prevent falls and injuries. However, before you start any new exercise program, please consult your doctor or physical therapist for guidance and advice.
The exercises I will show you are:
Narrow squats with a pillow between the legs
Wide squats with a belt around the thighs
High knees
Butt kicks
Low foot tracing
Walking while holding cane with one hand close to the nose and the other hand close to the belly button
I will explain how to do each exercise, how many repetitions and sets to do, and what benefits they have for your walking. You will need a pillow, a belt, and a cane for some of the exercises. You can also use a chair or a wall for support if needed.
These exercises are designed to be done at home, but you can also do them outdoors or at a gym if you prefer. Just make sure you have enough space and a safe environment. You can also adjust the intensity and duration of the exercises according to your level and progress.
