Genset weighs 9200lbs, built march 1940 for the Navy, shipped to Torpedo Station, Goat Island, Newport, Rhode Island as backup electric power at the Navy torpedo factory and research center. Its 230 volt, 3 Ph., 66kw. The engine is the same as a Cat D8 tractor at that time. This one is rated 120 hp @ 921rpm. Its got original Cat, Navy Board Of Ordnance and Torpedo Station I.D. tags. It shows 8600 hours and I don't think its ever been overhauled. It's has about 15 parts that were chrome plated by its Navel caretakers back in the day. I hauled it out to power wash it and paint "Navy Gray and make Under Way." thanks 4 looking. heres another vintage Caterpillar refurb i just finished up.    • Pony start , Hot Rod Lincoln , Cat Po...
