Our Restoration Nation

HERE IT IS Our DIY, 1897 Victorian Bathroom Renovation Reveal!! We promised you a six week complete Victorian Bathroom Renovation Before and After and we made that happen!! We are proud to have made our deadline, but what we are most proud of is the fact that we've started the road to redemption for this beautiful Victorian home. Neglected and abandoned for over 60 years this beautiful Victorian home had been crying for someone to see her faded beauty and bring her back from the brink; cue Laine and Kevin and their mobile restoration service! We see the beauty in the forgotten and strive to not just save homes, but to save the the stories of the every day men and women who lived their lives there.
We decided that we were going to tackle this rehabilitation in a slightly different way than most that we take on: one room at a time. What better room in which to begin than the bathroom? We wanted to create the Victorian Bathroom of dreams, but we also wanted to give you a picture of what an actual bathroom of the period would have looked like, and how to use that as inspiration for creating your own period appropriate bath that will never go out of style.
A period room should look like it has evolved over time; it's okay if your metals don't match, your wood shades are different, and your fixtures don't have to come in matched sets.A period room should feel like it's been there forever, be timeless, and trendless. Luckily there is a ton of source material available to study when trying to create a period bath, and study we did! We hope this video will show you what's possible with planning and determination.
We have SO MANY people to thank, but there are a few that helped us over the hump and who helped us source some of these amazing materials. NOTE: NONE of these are sponsored or discountedthese are just people who make great products or who have fabulous customer service who deserve a shout out.

NEVER FEAR tackling a fixerupper. If someone built it, you can build it back. There is nothing better than an old home, and don't forget that when you save the houses you save the history.
