This video was digitized from a reel of 8mm film with a date mark of 1946. It shows the U.S. Navy in a Pacific port, possibly Guam or the Philippines. I'm do not know what vessel this was filmed from. It also shows the USS Achernar AKA53, which was documented to be in the Pacific in early to mid 1946. Achernar survived a simultaneous Japanese kamikaze crash on her starboard side and bomb hit on her port side during the invasion of Okinawa in 1945, killing 5 and wounding 41.
