Hoozagooboi? Kodi! I update everyone on Facebook and Instagram as well as YouTube Stories, but I know some people here don't follow all of that, so I wanted to update you on Kodi's health.


Kodi's postsurgery bloodwork came back with evidence that he is still fighting an unknown infection, and in fact it appeared worse than before. Plus one of his kidney numbers was very high, and he has lost 200g in the last couple of months. So they were very concerned and he had to go back for a urine draw (they have to extract urine with a needle through his bladder for a sterile sample. Poor little guy!). In the meantime, they put him on a broad spectrum antibiotic. It's liquid, thankfully, but he still doesn't enjoy the process of me holding him and opening his mouth. Better than a pill though, that's for sure!



And I just found out that Kodi’s urinalysis came back and all numbers were normal. That’s kind of good news but it means there’s another reason for his high kidney numbers other than infection. The doctor is still suspecting other things that would require more testing and at least an abdominal ultrasound. But in the meantime we’re going to hold off on everything. He’s going to finish this round of antibiotics and continue to destress after the last few weeks. He’s been eating a bit better now that his mouth is fully healed so I think some time back to normal will do him some good. And I’ll get another bloodwork done in a couple weeks to see if his numbers were wonky due to stress or side effect from the medication or interrupted eating because of his dental issues. But as you can see, he’s feeling great and as needy as ever. Thank you again for your concern and well wishes and donations towards his ongoing care. It means the world to me.
