It’s been a week since Baxter saw the vet and was put on a small dose of anxiety meds (gabapentin) I think we are at the conclusion that anxiety and fear is where Baxter’s problems lie. I see him at night on the cameras walking around (nervously but not pacing), eating, drinking, and using the litter box, so he’s doing what he needs to do just not in front of us.

Today I took him up front to the sunny room, to watch the kittens play. He didn’t do much but he definitely responded to their presence. He tried to run from me one time but once he’s being held and loved he seems okay with it. Less horrified and a bit more relaxed. I’m hoping with time he begins to relax more and accept love more willingly. The best thing we can do right now is love him and show him he’s safe ❤
