The eaglet was laying on Cholyn's foot when she took off. It was flipped over the side and landed on a small ledge on the side of the rock face. The Cam Op was able to find the eaglet and it appeared unharmed, but was in a very precarious position. Dr. Sharpe was notified, but it was too late to get the team together and go out that day and the eaglet had to spend the night on the ledge. Luckily, it remained relatively calm and was still on the ledge the next morning. There were some tense moments the next morning as the eaglet tried to climb up the rock, but it soon gave up and settled down. Dr. Sharpe and the rescue team arrived and he was able to retrieve the eaglet and place it back in the nest. Thank you to Dr. Sharpe and his team for this amazing rescue. This is the second rescue he has had to do this season. The first was a successful rescue of one of the eaglets the went over the side at the West End nest.

Update: The parents returned just after 2pm. Chase brought a fish and Cholyn fed. The eaglet was very hungry and had a large crop at the end of the feeding.
