“We are owed nothing, but we owe the citizens of Denver everything.” Firefighter Sean Nielson. These words capture the commitment and passion of Denver Fire Department Station 11. This station is home to 3 platoons (rotations) of two 4 member crews and runs 24/7. The large single bunkroom and shared proximity of the firefighters promote a familylike environment that is reminiscent of the early firehouse. See firsthand the pride, respect, and commitment these fine men and women have for one another, their house, and their city.

Station 11 was built in 1936, and is the second oldest active station in Denver. This beautiful historic house still utilizes the four original fire poles descending straight from the bunkroom to the bay. Very few firehouses still offer the classic firefighter thrill of bunk to rig in seconds. Greased for optimal slip be sure to get a firm grip. This 85yearold house provides that coveted retrostyle with 3 bifold door bays that currently house two units Engine 11 and a Special Operations Rig (Rescue 1).

Station 11 is located in the Baker neighborhood and thus became known as “The Fabulous Baker Boys”. The station logo represented the 1976 American LaFrance Squirt 11 from 1987 until 1993 but when Pumper 11 replaced the Squirt in the bay the logo was updated as well.
