Narrowed down from 90 tracks, here are my choices for the top 10 greatest pieces of music from Square Enix's 2001 masterpiece. For the first time in the history of the series, musical genius Nobuo Uematsu was not the sole composer for the soundtrack, being joined by Junya Nakano and Masashi Hamauzu, the latter of whom went on to become the lead composer for FFXIII. Because of this integration of new talent, Final Fantasy X has a different feel to its music than previous games in the series, which often had a romantic, European feel. FFX, in contrast, has more electronica elements and a tropical feel at times, in keeping with the land of Spira, which was inspired by Okinawa.
