I came from the Father and have come into the world;
now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.

Gospel: John 16:23b28
Jesus said to his disciples: "Amen, amen, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in my name, he will give it to you. Until now, you have not requested anything in my name. Ask, and you shall receive, so that your joy may be full."

"I have spoken these things to you in proverbs. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in proverbs; instead, I will announce to you plainly from the Father. In that day, you shall ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father for you. For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me, and because you have believed that I went forth from God. I went forth from the Father, and I have come into the world. Next I am leaving the world, and I am going to the Father.”

Reflection: Are you open to understanding God's love more deeply through Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross, and are you seeking the Holy Spirit's guidance to reveal this truth?

Prayer: My precious Jesus, Your hour of glory upon the Cross is the clearest and fullest revelation of the Father’s love. On the Cross, You show us all how deeply we are loved by You and Your Father in Heaven. Please do open my mind, dear Lord, to all You wish to reveal to me, so that as I come to know You, I will also come to know Your Father in Heaven. Jesus, I trust in You.
