This Important RV Safety Device has an Expiration Date

We learned that our CO2 and Propane Detector has an expiration date! This was one of the first RV unknowns that we had since our device started beeping and flashing a code soon after we moved in. That's when we learned that these important safety devices must be replaced every five years! You can't ignore it. The device will start beeping freaking you and your pets out, in our case in the middle of the night.

It's a quick fix though. We ordered a SafeTAlert Dual LP/CP 12V Alarm to replace ours. It's been five years, so guess what? The alarm started going off and the code red/red/green/green started flashing. It's a simple DIY install.

The directions state to test this device weekly. A working CO2/Propane detector can save your life in the event of a propane leak or exposure to CO2 gas. These can be silent killers, so make sure your device works properly.
