Removing C3 Corvette windshield wiper blades appears impossible to the new owner. Is there a secret to doing so?

Well, sort of.

And I have to admit that for years I've been doing this basic maintenance job wrong! And I am sure most other Vette owners are making the same mistake.

An Instagram follower recently messaged me asking me how to remove the wipers from his C3. I assume he was trying to replace the blades.

Anyway, he was thrown off by the starlooking washer, which upon close inspection is not a washer at all.

I shared my customary "Use a flathead screwdriver to pry them apart until the blade comes off the arm." I even sent him a short video demonstrating the (incorrect) procedure.

But after careful inspection of the wiper blade, I realized there was a far easier, more effective, and safer method to get the job done, and I share the "secret" in this video.
