The Ferrari represents the start of a new era for Maranello. Gone is the V8 that's powered Ferrari's entrylevel midengined supercar for decades, in its place a downsized V6 with electrical assistance producing 819bhp. Will you miss the V8?

The 750S, meanwhile, is a comprehensive redevelopment of the magnificent 720S. You won't find any hybrid assistance here, just a snorting V8 with turbos producing 740bhp. With carbon fibre construction, the McLaren is lighter than the Ferrari by 200kg.
