Litopterns like Macrauchenia were highly successful herbivores of South America, especially thriving as the planet cooled and forest gave way to grasslands. They even endured the biotic interchange which ended several other struggling lineages. In Kaimere, they are not as speciose as large deer, bovines, or antelope, yet their populations are staggering in comparison, demonstrating success despite the later clades benefitting from many recent harvests.

Songs of the Inland Sea is the sequel to Tales of Kaimere! It is a nautical anthology, with all six short stories and novellas taking place in aquatic settings. There are heists on a ship, a desperate chase through a marsh, and a survival story from the perspective of a killer whale!
