THE THERMAL TARGETER - From Redstone Tutorials to Real-World Electrical Engineering

Outside of what I do in Minecraft, I'm an Electrical Engineering student! This is the final project for my favorite class yet, Embedded Systems. The goal of the class is to design devices optimized for one purpose—that's an embedded system. A thermostat, antilock brakes, and 7segmentstyle clocks are all great examples of common embedded systems.

This project was completed in just over two weeks from approval to completion. Cody and I spent about 40 hours each on the layout, build, code, and showcase for the Thermal Targeter.

The code is run on an ATmega328P microcontroller. It is connected to an AMG8833 GridEYE, HCSR04 Ultrasonic Sensor, two HS785HB Continuous Servos, and an HD44780compatible LCD. We did not design the arm construct used in this video; it is a PT2645S Pan & Tilt device from ServoCity.

If you have any questions, ask me in the comments! I'd love to hear from you.
