"The Princess Bride" is a classic 1987 adventurecomedy film directed by Rob Reiner. The story follows the adventures of a young boy who is sick in bed and his grandfather who comes to read him a story. The story is about a young woman named Buttercup who falls in love with a farmhand named Westley. When Westley goes away to seek his fortune, Buttercup is kidnapped by a trio of comical bandits and a sinister prince who intends to marry her for political reasons. Westley returns as a masked avenger to save her, and they encounter a host of eccentric characters including a giant, a vengeful Spaniard, and an eccentric wizard.
