Discovering Mars:
What would life on Mars be like if we could someday go live there?
Would it be similar to life on Earth, in the desert?
What equipment would we need to make sure we don't run out of resources?
These are intriguing and fascinating questions that we have all asked ourselves.
The idea that we could one day live on Mars is becoming more and more plausible.
NASA has even launched a competition, the 3D Printed Habitat Challenge, to find habitat designs that can be created directly on the Red Planet, so that we don't have to transport them from Earth.
An exciting prospect, but also a dizzying one....
On November 8, we were able to get a glimpse of what life on Mars would be like, once again thanks to NASA.
NASA's Curiosity rover, which has been on Mars for more than 10 years, filmed its shadow over the Red Planet for 12 hours.
The result is nothing less than the passage of time on Mars, from 5:30 am to 5:30 pm!
In this video, you can see how the Sun moves across the slopes of Mount Sharp.
In fact, it's a bit like being on Earth, but in the middle of a rocky desert!
In fact, we have been studying Mars for a long time to find out if, like Earth, it is inhabited, or at least habitable.
The earliest evidence of Mars observations dates back to Ancient Egypt, in the third millennium BC. Incredible, isn't it?
Their main goal: to photograph Mars to find traces of life and to find out what our planetary neighbor is really like.
Suffice it to say that, at such a high pressure, it is impossible for there to be liquid water on the surface of Mars.
In addition, the Red Planet lacks a magnetosphere to protect it from cosmic rays.
Mariner 4 disappointed many hopes. However, the search for life on Mars continues.
Bacteria are likely to live in a hostile environment like that of the Red Planet.
After the Viking probes were sent to Mars in the mid1970s to find traces of microorganisms, the search for singlecelled life on Mars took a slight back seat in favor of another equally exciting question:
the search for liquid water on Mars.
