This is a Documentary about the Scottish wildcat. Fabled for their ferocity and often referred to as Highland tigers, due to its untamable nature. This majestic cat is in trouble, now rarer then the Bengal tiger its in need of our help. Outnumbered by feral cats, which compete for food and space; they also will hybridise with the pure breeds, watering away the wildcat gene. Scientists estimate that there may be fewer than 50 Scottish wildcats left in the wild, and only a handful that are genetically pure. 
But there is hope. 
A breeding program has been put in places all over the United Kingdom with new DNA technology may help identify the best and purest prospects for breeding. Through working with local landowners and been conserved by the actions of neutering, and habitat conservation, the wildcat
has a chance.
